What is Artificial intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence has been revolutionizing industries and economies. "What is artificial intelligence exactly?". The most easiest answer to this question is "artificial intelligence is the collaboration of machines to the human intelligence". The abbreviation used for artificial intelligence is 'AI'. 

While AI seems to be pretty more fascinating out of our reach, it is the technology that has been impacting our lives for a long time now.

  1. Goggle Assistant
  2. Alexa
  3. Cortana
  4. Siri
How does AI work?

In general, AI has been developed by configuration of a large amount of labeled data, training, analyzing, the data for correlations and patterns, and using these patterns to make predictions about future states.

FOR EXAMPLE: A chat bot is the most common example of AI whereas, there can be thousands of examples which help us in better understanding of what AI exactly do.

AI processes mainly focus on three cognitive skills:

  • Learning
  • Reasoning
  • Self-correction
What are the types of AI?

AI can be categorized into 4 types:

  • Reactive Machines: These machines does not have memory and usually performs a specific task An example of such machines are DEEP BLUE, it was a chess-playing computer developed by IBM. 
  • Mind Theory: It is the psychological. This is the most important skill of AI which help it deal with humans.
  • Self awareness: This category helps, AI systems to have a sense of self, which gives them consciousness. Machines which have self-consciousness know their current state. Whereas, these types of AI does not really exist.
  • Limited memory: These AI have past memory which help them influence their future decisions which is also the major work of human mind.   
             FOR EXAMPLE: SELF-DRIVING CARS

What are the applications of AI?
Artificial Intelligence has made its way into a wide variety of applications. The different types of applications are:

AI in Healthcare: We witnessed how AI came to our rescue in difficult situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is no surprise that AI has proven to be tremendous help in the health sector. Doctors have predicted about the best treatments for diseases as serious as cancer. AI can help detect the exact size and location of a tumor. AI when trained extensively, can diagnose diseases more efficiently and suggest better treatments.

AI in Transportation:  The automobile industry has also been transformed by the magical touch of AI. 
Self-driving cars are one of the breakthrough assets added to AI to the automobile industry, whereas, AI robots have also intelligently changed the entire Era of AI.

AI in agriculture: AI has revolutionized agriculture by making farmers' lives easier.  Many farmers are using AI-powered automation to replace farming activities that are laborious and time-consuming, such as harvesting crops at the right time, identifying and eliminating weeds.
AI can analyze massive amounts of data and observe past trends to make predictions about the best possible options for better field productivity.

AI in Private Offices: AI is changing private offices too. For example:                         
 AI is getting unified with HR Management. From recruitment to employee counselling, machines are doing their smart work. 
AI makes the documentation process easy by automating the process of filling manual bills into an excel sheet.  
                                                      
Not only these there are many applications of AI like "AI in government offices", "AI in ARTS", ETC.

How are AI created?
AI are created by combining a variety of data with fast, iterative processing and intelligent algorithms, which allows the software to learn automatically from patterns or features in the data. Whereas, this requires multiple passes as finding connection is not too easy, and derive meaning for the undefined data.

How likely will AI take over the world?
We have been warned for years that AI is taking over the world. PwC(Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrandpredicts that by mid 2030s about  30% of jobs will be automated. CBS (Columbia Broadcasting System) news reports machines could replace 40% of the world's workers within 15 to 25 years.

How can you differentiate between Strong AI and Weak AI?
Strong AI: The cognitive abilities which describes the human brain, do usually comes under Strong AI. When presented with an unfamiliar task , a strong AI can use fuzzy logic to apply knowledge from one domain to other. 
Weak AI: Weak AI also known as  Narrow AI, is an AI system that is designed and trained to complete a specific task. The Example of weak AI are various industrial tools.


"AI FOR ALL" - An Initiative By Government 

The AI FOR ALL on 29th July 2021, was launches by the honorable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi ji.  The program is organized by intel with which the CBSE has also collaborated being awareness the biggest and most wanted as its insight.

Any of the 2 ways can be used to access the this program:
1. Through the CBSE Academic Website (link: https://ai-for-all.in/#/home?ref=CBSE wherein it is available in 11 Indian languages.

2. The courses can be accessed on DIKSHA CBSE platform (link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.gov.diksha.app in English and
Hindi languages.
